Polio eradication thanks to vaccines
As of 2022, polio has been eradicated nearly everywhere except a few places in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where distrust of western society is extreme (endless war can increase suspicion) and health education is non-existent.
If today's anti-vax movement was around in the 1950s and 1960s we might still have polio as an endemic threat. President Kennedy helped with the polio eradication effort in USA, something his nephew (RFK Jr.) ignores when fear mongering about vaccines.
